Prime Account

Prime Account · Scaling Plan
From your first Prime Account to Certified FundingPips Trader.

The Scaling Plan is a career roadmap built to reward consistency. Earn three rewards on your Master Account, click UNLOCK to Unlock your Prime Account, then hit the profit target at each level and compound up through the Scaling Plan. Reach Level 10 and you become a Certified FundingPips Trader.

  • After 3 rewards on your Master Account, the option to Unlock your Prime Account appears. It is fully optional: keep trading and requesting rewards on your Master Account for as long as you like, or click UNLOCK to start your Prime Account.
  • Hit 10% cumulative profit on Prime and request a scale-up; your account grows by +30% of the current level's starting size.
  • 70% reward split with daily rewards available on Prime. Request as many times as you want, everyday!
  • Level 10 or $2M Prime Capital unlocks Certified FundingPips Trader status and investor capital through Tradin, our partner CFD broker.
Unlocking Prime is fully optional
On every model, the Prime Account is an option, not a requirement. After 3 rewards you can keep trading and requesting rewards on your Master Account for as long as you like, with no limit on how many rewards you take. Unlock whenever you choose, or not at all.
Prove Your Edge: Earn 3 Rewards

Before your 3rd reward, your account operates as a normal Master Account. Trade your strategy, manage your risk, and request rewards on your selected cycle.

Earning 3 rewards is the minimum requirement before Prime becomes available, and reaching it never unlocks Prime automatically. Unlocking is always your choice: you can keep trading your Master Account and take a 4th reward and beyond instead.

If you choose to Unlock, your Prime Account size is calculated from the profit you have earned after your 3rd reward. If you don't, that profit stays yours to trade and to request as rewards.

3rd reward processed: Prime eligibility unlocked
Unlock Your Prime Account

When you're ready, click the UNLOCK button on your dashboard and confirm by typing UNLOCK in the confirmation dialog. Your next reward funds the Prime Account at a model-specific multiplier; when you choose to switch to a Prime Account, your Master Account closes and a Prime Account is created.

UNLOCK becomes available after:
  • After your 3rd reward Your 3rd reward is complete. Before the 3rd reward, there is no Prime option to Unlock.
  • Minimum profit Profit after your 3rd reward reaches at least 2% of the Master Account size (the floor for UNLOCK). Up to 10% of your Master Account size counts toward your starting Prime Account size.
Reward cycle follows your Master Account
Unlocking also takes a reward request, so you Unlock on your usual reward cycle date, with the reward eligibility you already meet for any reward. That carries over from your Master Account; it is not an extra Prime rule.

At the moment of Unlock, your reward cycle split is applied to your total profit after the 3rd reward. Your split is then multiplied by your model's multiplier to set your Prime Account Size.

Total profit (after the 3rd reward) × your split % × model multiplier = Prime Account Size

After Unlock
When you choose to switch to a Prime Account, your Master Account closes and a Prime Account is created in USD. A Master in EUR, GBP, CHF, or INR is converted to USD at Unlock. Traders in MT5-restricted countries (US and Canada) cannot reach Prime. Prime Account creation takes up to 7 business days from the moment you click UNLOCK.

Your Prime Trading Objectives

Once you're on a Prime Account, these are the objectives you trade by. Each level carries a cumulative 10% profit target; a soft daily loss pauses trading for the day without counting as a breach; and a trailing Smart Max Loss sets the floor. If you ever breach, the Comeback Rule gives you a path back.

How does the 10% profit target work?

The profit target is 10% of the current level's starting size, measured against your cumulative profit on the Prime. There's no time limit. Daily rewards can be requested at any time.

On a $100,000 Level 1 Prime, your target is $10,000. After scaling to $130,000, your next target is $13,000.

Cumulative carries forward; the end-of-day 30% split doesn't reduce it
Your cumulative-profit counter is the total of all closed profits on the Prime and does not reset after a scale-up. For example:
  • Make 3% profit, request your 70% reward, request it. Your cumulative profit counter still reads 3%.
  • Make another 3% profit, request again. The cumulative counter now reads 6%.
  • Make another 4% profit, request again. Cumulative counter hits 10% and your account scales by 30% and you reach the next PRIME level.
  • Your cumulative counter keeps building toward the next scale-up. Nothing resets.
How does the 2% Soft Daily Loss work?

A 2% Soft Daily Loss applies on Prime Accounts. This is 2% of the higher of daily opening balance or equity. If realized or unrealised losses hit this level, trading is paused for the rest of the day. The account resumes the next trading day.

This is a soft breach. The account is not closed. The daily limit resets at 00:00 Platform Time (UTC+3).

How does the Smart Max Loss work?

On Prime, the Max Loss is a trailing Smart Max Loss floor, not a fixed level. It starts below your opening balance and trails upward as your end-of-day closing balance sets new highs. The floor is recalculated once per trading day, at the daily close: never in real time, and never on intraday highs. It never moves down.

The floor stops trailing once your end-of-day closing balance reaches the model's lock threshold. At that point the floor locks at the model's lock floor and stays fixed until your next scale-up.

Smart Max Loss per model on a $100,000 Prime
Model Loss % Start floor Lock floor Locks when close reaches
2 Step Standard 10% $90,000 $93,000 $103,000
2 Step Pro 6% $94,000 $96,000 $102,000
1 Step 6% $94,000 $96,000 $102,000
Zero 5% $95,000 $97,000 $102,000

The percentages are size-independent and apply to any Prime Account Size. Distance from opening balance to lock floor: 7% on 2 Step Standard, 4% on 2 Step Pro and 1 Step, 3% on Zero. Lock trigger (closing-balance growth at which the floor locks): +3% on 2 Step Standard and +2% on the other three models.

Trailing mechanic. The floor is recalculated once per trading day, at the daily close. When the day's closing balance sets a new high, the floor moves up to (closing-balance high minus the Smart Max Loss amount). When the closing balance is at or below the prior high, the floor stays where it is. Intraday highs that are given back before the close do not move the floor. When the closing balance reaches the lock threshold, the floor locks at the lock floor and stops trailing permanently.

The floor itself updates only at the end of the day, but your breach level is watched in real time. The breach is equity-based: if equity touches or drops to the floor at any moment, even briefly, the account is breached. Both floating PnL on open positions and realized closed-trade losses count.

Example: 2 Step Standard, $100,000 Prime (10% Smart Max Loss)
Starting position
Starting floor: $90,000 · Lock floor: $93,000 · Locks when close reaches $103,000
Day (end-of-day close) Close Floor Locked?
Day 1 closes at a new high $101,000 $91,000 No
Day 2 hits $102,000 intraday, gives it back before the close $100,500 $91,000 No (no new closing high)
Day 3 closes at a new high $102,000 $92,000 No
Day 4 closes at the lock threshold $103,000 $93,000 Yes, locked
Day 5 closes higher; the floor is locked $112,000 $93,000 Yes (will not trail)
Day 6 equity touches $93,000 intraday n/a $93,000 Breached
The floor moves only on a new end-of-day closing high. The breach is watched in real time: on Day 6, equity touching the locked floor breaches the account even though the floor itself updates only at the close.

Starting floor: $90,000
Lock floor: $93,000
Locks when close reaches: $103,000
After scale-up ($130k)

Lock floor: $120,900

Scale Through Each Level: Hit 10%, Grow 30%

Once your cumulative profit covers the level's 10% target, you become eligible to scale up, up to the $2,000,000 Prime Capital maximum. The scale-up is upon request: submit it through your dashboard when you're ready. Your account size grows by 30% of the current level's starting size, and the new profit target and Smart Max Loss are recalculated immediately from the new base. The Prime account number does not change at scale-up. Scale-up processing takes up to 3 business days from your request.

You can keep trading past the scale-up target without requesting. Profits continue to accumulate. If your cumulative covers multiple scale-up targets, you can submit multiple scale-up requests in sequence, one per level.

Example. $100,000 Level 1 Prime, cumulative reaches $10,000. You request the scale-up. Account becomes $130,000. New target: $13,000. Smart Max Loss resets from the $130,000 base. The cumulative counter carries the $10,000 forward; to scale from L2 to L3 your cumulative needs to reach $23,000 ($10,000 + $13,000).

Remaining profits before a scale-up affect Smart Max Loss afterward.
Profits left on the account before you request the scale-up affect the Smart Max Loss floor after the scale-up. Your balance after the scale-up will be higher than the account's size, so the floor trails up from there. To avoid this, request your profits before the scale-up.

Your trading capacity sits in two separate pools. Evaluation Allocation is the max on your evaluation and Master Accounts. Prime Capital is the max on your Prime Accounts. The two pools operate independently.

The two pools
Evaluation Allocation
  • Covers active evaluation, Master, and Prime accounts. Active Primes consume Evaluation Allocation at their Prime Account Size (the scaled amount doesn't count); Unlocked Masters are closed and no longer consume.
  • Starts at $300,000.
  • Each time a Master Unlocks to Prime, Evaluation Allocation increases by 50% of the new Prime Account Size (the size at Unlock, after your reward split and model multiplier are applied).
  • Breaching a Prime permanently reduces Evaluation Allocation by 75% of its Scaled Prime Account Size.
  • Maxed at $600,000.
+50% of new Prime Account Size per Unlock-75% of Scaled Prime Account Size per breach
Prime Capital
  • The total size of all your active Prime Accounts combined, including scaled-up capital.
  • Each Master that Unlocks to Prime adds its unlock size (set by your reward split and model multiplier) to Prime Capital.
  • Scaling up an existing Prime grows Prime Capital further. Scale-ups do not grow Evaluation Allocation.
  • Prime Capital is not reduced by breaches in the same way as Evaluation Allocation. A breached Prime simply closes and its size leaves the Prime Capital total.
  • Maxed at $2,000,000 across all your Primes combined.
When Evaluation Allocation is exhausted
Once Evaluation Allocation is reached, purchasing new evaluation accounts will not be possible. If this happens, the Comeback Rule is your path back to Prime: see the Comeback Rule.
When Prime Capital reaches $600,000: Prime-only lockdown
When your Prime Capital reaches $600,000 all active evaluation and Master Accounts are closed. Purchasing new challenges is not possible. Scale your Prime Accounts to 2M.
Scenario: three $100k 2 Step Standard accounts, from purchase to a breach

This walkthrough follows three $100k 2 Step Standard accounts on the 60% weekly cycle. It shows what happens after you buy them, how each Unlock affects your Evaluation Allocation, what happens when you scale a Prime, and what a breach costs.

1
You buy three $100k evaluation accounts
All three draw from your Evaluation Allocation. $300k is fully consumed and no further evaluation accounts can be opened.
Evaluation Allocation: $300k · $300k consumed · $0 free  |  Prime Capital: $0 of $2M
2
You pass the evaluations, then Unlock all three
Each $100k evaluation is first passed to become a funded Master. Each Master then follows the Unlock Prime path: take your first three rewards, then build profit after the third, counting up to 10% of the Master size. That post-third-reward profit is what funds the Prime when you Unlock. Here each Master reaches the full 10% ($10,000) on the 60% weekly cycle, so each Prime opens at $60,000 ($10,000 × 60% × 10). Each Unlock then adds 50% of $60k = $30k to your Evaluation Allocation, so three Unlocks add $90k, raising the max from $300k to $390k. The three Master Accounts close and no longer consume Evaluation Allocation; the three Prime Accounts consume their Prime Account Sizes, 3 × $60k = $180k.
Evaluation Allocation: $390k · $180k consumed · $210k free  |  Prime Capital: $180k of $2M
3
You scale one Prime to Level 3
One of your three Primes hits its 10% targets and scales up: $60,000 to $78,000 (Level 2) to $101,400 (Level 3). Scaling grows Prime Capital but does not change your Evaluation Allocation, so your free allocation stays the same.
Evaluation Allocation: $390k · $180k consumed · $210k free  |  Prime Capital: $221,400 of $2M
4
That scaled Prime is breached
A breach permanently takes 75% of the Prime's current size off your Evaluation Allocation. The breached Prime closes, and its size leaves Prime Capital. Your other Prime Accounts continue trading without interruption.
Your Level 3 Prime ($101,400) breaches
Breach penalty: 75% × $101,400 = $76,050 deducted permanently from Evaluation Allocation.
If it had breached unscaled ($60,000)
Breach penalty: 75% × $60,000 = $45,000. The penalty always follows the current size.
Evaluation Allocation: $313,950 · $120k consumed · $193,950 free  |  Prime Capital: $120,000 of $2M
Safety Net
There is always a path back

Markets are unpredictable. The Comeback Rule exists because skill shouldn't be permanently locked out, no matter how many times a trader needs to rebuild. There is no limit on how many times it can be triggered.

Comeback mode activates when both conditions are met
Condition 1 · No active accounts
You have no active Prime, evaluation, or Master Accounts. Active accounts of any kind keep Comeback from triggering; those continue under their own rules.
and
Condition 2 · Free Allocation below the minimum account size
Your Free Allocation has fallen below the smallest account you can buy. If you still have enough Free Allocation to purchase a new account, Comeback doesn't fire; you simply use what's left to buy a new challenge.
how to come back
The Comeback Rule: no limit on attempts
1
Evaluation Allocation resets to $50,000
Comeback Mode automatically resets your Evaluation Allocation to $50,000. You're limited to one active account during Comeback (one eval or Master, up to $50k); you cannot hold a second until you reach Prime.
2
Open one eval up to $50k and work toward Prime
Open a single evaluation up to your $50k allocation. Pass the evaluation phases, reach Master, and trade toward Unlock. Example: a $50k 2 Step Standard at the 10% with the 60% Weekly split Unlocks to a Prime at $30,000.
3
Once Prime is reached, normal mechanics resume
The one-active-account constraint lifts once you reach Prime. Evaluation Allocation grows by 50% of your new Prime Account Size: in the example above, +50% of $30k = +$15k, bringing your max to $65k. With $30k consumed by the Prime, you have $35k of free Evaluation Allocation to purchase additional challenges. Normal allocation mechanics continue from here, up to the $600k.
Comeback Mode can be triggered again
If you breach during Comeback and both conditions are met again (no active accounts and Free Allocation below the smallest account you can buy), Comeback resets once more to a $50,000 baseline. There is no limit on the number of times this can happen.
Rewards: Minimum Amount
The minimum reward request is 1% of your Prime Account Size (the Scaled Prime Account Size after scaling), including our split. Transfers are subject to exchange rates and fees.

Reward Structure

Reward Cycle
Daily
Request a reward on any day your profit meets the 1% minimum. 70% profit split on every reward.
How does this work? ↓
How does the daily reward cycle work?

You keep 70% of profits on Prime; we keep 30%. You can request a reward on any day your profit meets the 1% minimum of your Prime Account Size (including our split), without waiting for a scale-up. You can request as many times in a day as you like and keep trading at the same time.

Each request is deducted directly, so trading continues with no processing pause, and requesting a reward does not reset your scaling progress. Transfers are subject to exchange rates and fees.

How does the end-of-day split work?

Our 30% is removed from any profit left on the account at the end of each trading day, and that amount goes toward your scale-ups on Prime. If you request a reward during the day on a closed profit, the 70/30 split is applied at that point and there is no further end-of-day deduction on that profit. Any profit earned after a reward request and left on the account through end of day has its 30% deducted then. If you end the day in profit but your cumulative profit did not increase, no 30% is deducted.

Example. Early in the day you close $5,000 profit and request it as a reward: $3,500 is available to you, $1,500 is our split, and the $5,000 leaves the Prime balance. Later the same day you close another $3,000 and don't request it; at end of day $900 (30% of $3,000) is deducted and $2,100 stays on the account as your split.

Rewards are separate from scale-ups
You do not need to reach the 10% scale-up target to request a reward. The 10% target triggers scale-up eligibility, not reward eligibility. As long as a request meets the 1% minimum of your Prime Account Size, you can take it, multiple times per day if you like.
Trading conditions on Prime
Prime uses dynamic leverage on every instrument and carries the commission of the model you unlocked from. These conditions apply to every Prime, whatever your original model.

Commission

Your Prime Account carries the same commission structure as the model that unlocked it, whether that was 1 Step, 2 Step Standard, 2 Step Pro, or Zero.

Crypto commission formula
Lot size × crypto price × 0.04%. For example, 1 lot of ETH/USD at $2,600 = $1.04.
Instrument 1 Step / 2 Step Standard / 2 Step Pro Zero
Forex $5 per lot $7 per lot
Metals $5 per lot $7 per lot
Energies No commission No commission
Indices No commission No commission
Crypto 0.04% 0.04%

Dynamic leverage

Prime uses the Standard Leverage Plan, a tiered system: smaller positions get higher leverage (up to 1:2000), stepping down as your position on an instrument grows. Margin is cumulative, so each tier applies only to the portion of volume within its range, and you keep the benefit of the lower tiers however large the trade. It is measured per instrument, across all your positions on that instrument, and applies to every Prime regardless of your original model.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I actually unlock my Prime account?

After your 3rd reward, an UNLOCK button appears on your dashboard once you become eligible. Unlocking is optional: you can keep trading and requesting rewards on your Master Account instead. If you do confirm UNLOCK, your next reward funds the Prime Account at your model's multiplier, the Master Account closes, and a new Prime Account is issued.

What happens if I hit the 10% target on Prime but don't want to scale up immediately?

The scale-up is upon request, not automatic. You can keep trading past the threshold.

Does my cumulative profit reset after a scale-up?

No. Your cumulative profit counter carries forward across all levels and is calculated before the end-of-day split.

If I hit $2M in Prime Capital before Level 10, am I a Certified FundingPips Trader?

Yes. There are two ways to become a certified FundingPips Trader, and either one qualifies you: hitting Level 10 on a Prime Account, or growing your total Prime Capital to $2,000,000 across all your Prime Accounts combined. Whichever you reach first, you're certified. From there, you're featured on Tradin Investor Marketplace.

What is the Comeback rule?

The Comeback Rule gives you another chance to work your way back to Prime. Your Evaluation Allocation resets to $50,000, you can buy one evaluation up to $50,000 while in Comeback Mode. Once you reach Prime again, normal account mechanics resume, and your Evaluation Allocation can continue growing.

What happens if my Master Account hits 10% profit after my third reward?

Nothing stops. You keep trading on your Master Account and can keep requesting rewards as normal. Up to 10% of your Master Account size counts toward the starting size of a Prime Account if you choose to Unlock; profit beyond 10% does not add to that starting size, but it stays yours to trade and request as rewards. Unlocking Prime is always your choice, on every model.

Is unlocking Prime mandatory?

No. On every model, unlocking Prime is your choice. After your 3rd reward you can stay on your Master Account and keep trading and requesting rewards for as long as you like, with no limit on the number of rewards, or you can Unlock to start a Prime Account.
