Your trading report card
The FP Score (0–100) measures how you trade, not just whether you are profitable. It evaluates risk-reward, consistency, TP/SL discipline, and winning ratio across both evaluation and Master accounts.
Risk-reward ratioWinning ratioTP/SL usageConsistency

FP Score

The FP Score is a 0–100 evaluation system that measures multiple dimensions of trading behaviour, not just profit. Think of it as a report card that considers how you traded, your consistency over time, and your approach to risk, not just your final balance.

How scoring works: Advanced mathematical models analyse multiple KPIs on a spectrum, so a risk-reward of 1.8 vs 2.0 is recognised as a small difference and scored accordingly, rather than being arbitrarily classified as "bad" or "good".

Metric Evaluation Accounts Master Accounts
Risk-Reward Ratio Your ability to make more on winners than you lose on losers Your ability to make more on winners than you lose on losers
Winning Ratio Your consistency in picking profitable trades Your consistency in picking profitable trades
TP/SL Usage Your discipline in using proper risk management tools Your discipline in using proper risk management tools
Consistency Your ability to maintain steady performance over time Enhanced standards: higher expectations for steady performance
Daily Return Performance Master only Your ability to generate consistent daily growth
Calmar Ratio Master only Advanced risk-adjusted returns showing sustainability
Long-term Risk Management Master only Proven ability to manage drawdowns effectively

What Affects Your FP Score?

Hover over each card to see how the metric is measured and how to improve it.

Risk-Reward Ratio Avg win ÷ avg loss↺ Hover to flip
Measures: Average profit ÷ average loss across all trades.Example: $150 avg win ÷ $75 avg loss = RR of 2.0, meaning you make twice as much on winners as you lose on losers.Improve: Set wider profit targets relative to stop losses. Ensure potential reward outweighs risk before entry.
Winning Ratio % of profitable trades↺ Hover to flip
Measures: The percentage of your trades that close in profit.Example: 65 profitable trades out of 100 = a 65% win ratio.Improve: Focus on high-probability setups, wait for confirmation, and avoid overtrading on marginal signals.
TP / SL Usage % trades with both orders set↺ Hover to flip
Measures: The percentage of trades where both a Take Profit and Stop Loss are set.Example: 35 trades with TP/SL out of 50 = 70% usage rate, indicating strong risk discipline.Improve: Make TP/SL mandatory before every entry. This is the single easiest score fix available.
Consistency Score Smooth, stable equity curve↺ Hover to flip
Measures: How closely your equity follows a smooth, upward growth path over time.Example: Steady monthly growth scores far higher than huge gains followed by large losses.Improve: Stick to your trading plan, control position sizing, and avoid revenge trading after losses.
Daily Return (Master)Avg daily account growth↺ Hover to flip
Measures: Average daily account growth using geometric averaging to account for compounding.Example: Growing from $10,000 to $11,000 over 20 trading days demonstrates steady compounding returns.Improve: Prioritise quality over quantity. Aim for modest, consistent gains rather than high-risk home runs.
Calmar Ratio (Master)Annual return ÷ max drawdown↺ Hover to flip
Measures: Annualised return divided by maximum drawdown, representing the return generated per unit of risk taken.Example: 30% annual return with 10% max drawdown = Calmar of 3.0, meaning 3 units of return per unit of risk.Improve: Reduce position sizes during drawdown. Prioritise capital preservation over chasing returns.
Long-term Risk Management (Master)Drawdown management over time↺ Hover to flip
Measures: Your proven ability to manage drawdowns effectively across the full life of the Master Account.Example: Recovering smoothly from a 5% drawdown without compounding losses scores higher than chasing recovery with oversized trades.Improve: Cut position size after consecutive losses. Treat drawdown periods as risk-off windows, not opportunities to double down.
How Metrics Work Together

Excellent trading comes from multiple metrics working in harmony; no single metric dominates.

Score Boosters
  • Max Score: High RR + High WR + High TP/SL
  • Very Good: High Consistency + High RR
  • Discipline Boost: Consistent TP/SL + reasonable RR
Alternative Patterns
  • High Win Rate: High WR + Medium RR + High TP/SL
  • Big Winner: High RR + Medium WR + High TP/SL
  • Consistent Performer: High Consistency + Medium RR/WR + High TP/SL
Score Penalties
  • Low TP/SL usage overrides good RR/WR
  • Low Consistency + Low RR → below-average
  • Low WR + Low RR → poor score
Score Ranges & Tips
80–100Exceptional: Elite Trading Skills
60–79Good: Solid Foundation
40–59Average: Room for Growth
20–39Below Average: Needs Improvement
0–19Poor: Significant Development Needed

Score-Specific Tips:

  • Low RR? Revisit trade exits: don't close winners too early.
  • Low WR? Review entry signals and confirmation filters.
  • Low TP/SL? Easiest fix: make it mandatory on every trade.
  • Low Consistency? Focus on stable position sizing and emotional control.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why doesn't my dashboard match what I see on my trading platform?

The dashboard is for informational purposes only and is not a live representation of performance. Delays in the history view are normal. Your balance, trading objectives, and equity are always current. For real-time updates, always use your trading platform.

If you notice a discrepancy, allow time for the data to sync. Dashboard data may not always match live results due to synchronisation intervals.

Can I have a high FP Score with a low winning ratio?

Yes. The scoring model recognises that some strategies win less often but generate larger profits per winning trade. The article's Alternative Patterns section specifically identifies a High Win Rate pattern, but also a Big Winner pattern (High RR + Medium WR + High TP/SL), which confirms that a lower win rate combined with a strong risk-reward ratio and consistent TP/SL usage can still produce a high score.

I cannot find the FundingPips server on MetaTrader 5. What should I do?

Search for FundingPips Corp (2) in the server list and click Add. If it still does not appear, clear the cache on your device. On iOS: MT5 > Settings > Storage > Clear All Caches. On Android: Settings > Apps > MT5 > Storage > Clear All Caches & Data. Restart the app and search again.

Do I need a separate cTrader account to use it with FundingPips?

Not necessarily. If you already have a cTrader account registered with the same email as your FundingPips account, your funded account will appear in the account dropdown when you log in. If you do not have a cTrader account yet, you can sign up at cTrader.com directly, or look for the setup email from cTrader Spotware in your inbox. Check your spam folder if you do not see it.

What inputs do I need to use the Position Size Calculator?

You need four things: the instrument you are trading (e.g., EURUSD), your current account balance, your desired risk percentage (e.g., 0.5%, 1%), and your planned entry price and stop loss price. The calculator uses these to instantly generate your exact required lot size before execution.
